THE ANTI OLOID
Think about your favorite book. Every time you read it, you discover something new, right? This sculpture has that same magical quality—an incredible range of shapes in one single object.
The Anti Oloid is the simplest form of the Oloid geometry. When we break them down, both shapes have the same structure. However, the Anti Oloid is made with the fewest elements possible. It creates different paths while still having the same motion.
The Anti Oloid might be confused with a Möbius Strip. It looks similar to that extraordinary mathematical construction, but unlike that loop, it has two different surfaces and can't be constructed from a flat sheet.
How to build an
Anti Oloid?
This complex shape doesn't have such a complicate construction as it may seem; it is a continuous surface created by the trajectory of a line connecting two points that travel along two congruent circles in perpendicular planes so that the center of each circle lies on the edge of the other.
